As a College Advancement Mentor housed at Chattanooga State, Sarah works with students from Tyner Academy, Red Bank, Hixson and Howard School, making sure that the students are provided with the necessary tools and assistance needed to be successful and remain on point.  She also works with current students at Tyner, assisting with the completion of Tennessee Promise, college admission,and scholarship applications along with the FAFSA.

As a former College Advisor with PEF and Hamilton County for over 15 years, Consultant with Hamilton County for 2 years, and a Hamilton County Educator for 33 years, she is compassionate and driven to aid in the success of young people. In the past, she received recognition and awards for her efforts, such as, Who’s Who Among Outstanding Educators in America (twice), Vice President of the Southeastern Regions of Counselors, College and Career Success Award and nominated as a 2020 UnBought and UnBossed Honoree, to name a few.

During her leisure time, she is actively involved in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and her church, as a choir member and the Pastor’s wife.  She enjoys singing, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
