About the role
Key Responsibilities
Lead PEF’s fundraising efforts:
• Design and lead a year-round development plan that supports and grows PEF and our programs.
• Strengthen and nurture existing relationships with local foundations, corporations, and donors.
• Create and nurture relationships with new partners.
• With support from PEF’s staff members, develop, write, and submit successful proposals.
• Oversee PEF’s donor management CRM, Neon One.
Communications & Development Alignment
· Collaborate closely with PEF’s Director of Communications to ensure fundraising and donor engagement strategies are aligned with organizational messaging.
· Coordinate with the Communications team to integrate development initiatives into PEF’s overall communications plan.
· Ensure consistent messaging between Development and Communications efforts, supporting organizational branding and voice.
Serve as a member of PEF’s Senior Leadership Team
• Actively contribute to weekly meetings of Senior Leadership Team.

Director of Development
Public Education Foundation (PEF) is looking for an extraordinary individual who is gifted at designing and managing long-term strategic development plans, building relationships, and has an outstanding record of securing financial support for a not-for-profit organization. We want to hire someone who is a terrific relationship-builder, a strategic thinker, a self-starter and a committed advocate for great public schools.
