Volunteer

Thank you for helping transform public education! We’re looking for help in the following areas:

Current Volunteer Needs

Summer Spruce Up Days
Several of our schools are having work days to spruce up their campus before students return in the fall.  This may include painting, organizing, cleaning, landscaping and more!  These projects are perfect for individuals and groups.  Minimum age is 16 without an adult.

June 5:   Hillcrest Elementary needs volunteers to help assemble 64 bookshelves that will be used in the classrooms to create book nooks.

July 13:   Red Bank Elementary will be painting classrooms and cleaning the inside and outside of the building and needs volunteers for this work day.

July 24:   Woodmore Elementary needs volunteers for their painting day.

Please contact Kate for more information on times and to sign up!

Grant Writers
PEF will be training volunteers in June to assist our schools with the grant writing process.  This is a short-term opportunity that can be done remotely with the exception of meeting with school staff to understand their goals and needs.  Volunteers must have excellent written skills and have their own computer and internet access.  This is a great opportunity to learn something new while helping our public schools!

 Job Shadow Hosts
Do you love your career?  Our high school students are looking for job shadowing experiences this summer.  If you are willing to share a half or full day with a student this summer, please let us know.

Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities - recruiting now for the new (’13-’14) school year!

Elementary School
We have a variety of exciting ways that you can help support our teachers and leaders in elementary schools!  Whether you have a lot of time to give, or a little, we can help match you with the needs of a school.  Our volunteers are helping teachers prep for classes, organizing books, grant writing, and more!

Middle School
Math and Science Buddies work with teachers on an as needed basis to help students one-on-one with coursework.  If you have a background in math and/or science, you can make a difference in a student’s life.

High School
Come be a part of our exciting College & Career Success Initiative.   There are so many ways you can help students be college and career ready!  Our volunteers work with our college advisors helping more students make college a reality, speaking at a school about your career, hosting students for job shadowing experiences, mentoring students, and helping with events such as college fairs or tours.

Group Volunteer Projects

Is your group looking for a volunteer project to do together? We can connect you with a project at one of our public schools.
