Networked Learning Communities

Does it help a kindergarten teacher to know what will be expected of her students when they reach high school? Is it useful for a high school principal to know what kindergarten students are learning?

In several Hamilton County communities, the answer is a resounding "yes!"

As part of its Leadership Initiative, the Public Education Foundation provided funding and support for Networked Learning Communities. School leaders from East Ridge, Lookout Valley, Soddy Daisy and Howard elementary, middle and high schools which are zoned together have formed Networked Learning Communities to discuss common goals, develop plans with a shared focus, and help make smooth transitions for students.

While PEF no longer funds these networks, the valuable collaboration and sharing continue.
