Fund for Teachers is a national nonprofit that offers teachers opportunities to travel in the U.S. or across the globe in search of cultural enrichment, new teaching methods and fun and exciting ideas for the classroom.
As of Fall 2011, Public Education Foundation has become a local partner with Fund for Teachers. We believe enriching experiences like those offered through Fund For Teachers will lead to teacher development inside and outside the classroom, impacting the lives of students in a powerful way.
Because of a local need for work in the areas of STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) and literacy, Hamilton County teachers are especially encouraged to submit proposals in these areas. Similarly, in order to maximize the impact of this experience for schools, teachers are encouraged to join with one or more colleagues and submit team proposals. However, great proposals from individual teachers and teachers in any subject area will be given full consideration for approval. Individuals are eligible for grants as high as $5,000, and teams are eligible for up to $10,000 per team.
Applications for teacher fellowships are available October 1st; the deadline to submit applications is January 27th, 2012.
Fund for Teachers will present webinars on the dates below; you must RSVP through the online event management system in order to participate:
If you can't make a webinar, check out the online information session.

“The outside role played by PEF was crucial.… Calling itself a “critical friend,” the PEF brought a coherence and focus to the work by providing careful analyses of the data and making sure that attention didn’t wander from the initial goal.”
