Teacher Residency

Parents, researchers, and - most of all - students know that great teachers are the key to success in school.

An innovative model of teacher recruitment and preparation, known as Teacher Residency, is helping to boost student achievement in challenged school districts across America.  There are critical shortages of science, technology, math, and engineering (or STEM) teachers.  At the same time, many people decide later in their professional life to begin a career in teaching.  At the intersection of these challenges and opportunities is Teach/Here: PEF's latest partnership to help recruit, train, place, and support excellent teachers in hard-to-fill math and science positions.

I can’t imagine what new principals ...
did in the past before PEF began supporting these programs. I hope that PEF will continue to provide these types of support programs for many generations. Imagine the possibilities!
